Downtown Miami To Get Another High-Rise Hotel... A Hampton Inn

While most of the new hotel action in Miami has been taking place (or about to) on the beach, another hot area of town is preparing for a new hotel, too: Brickell, in downtown.

Much ado was made about Brickell with the openings of the EPIC and Viceroy hotels--and the area is now filled with young professionals living in condos with bay views and hotel-like amenities. But the latest addition to the 'hood this fall will be a Hampton Inn.

That's good news for people who want to stay downtown without paying $300 a night. Developer of the property, Bernie Wolfson, tells GlobeSt.com that rates will be in the $100-$150 range.

Wolfson admits that this will primarily be a business traveler hotel, but points out that it will be 15 stories and have a lobby bar--making it different from your run-of-the-mill, alongside-the-highway Hampton Inn.

You can click around the inspiration boards for the hotel's interior design here to see that it will at least be a more modern incarnation of the Hampton Inn brand.

It's also worth remembering that there are now a lot more high-end bar and restaurant options in Brickell--way more than just two years ago--and that Miami International Airport and South Beach are both just a short drive away.

Look for the Hampton Inn Miami Brickell to open in October.
